This is the web site for IMB's Baltic Russian Language Team. We live in southeastern Latvia. IMB has other teams in the Baltics that work with Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian language speakers. Our team works with the population segment for whom Russian is the mother tongue or heart language. Most of our focus in 2005 and 2006 will be in or near Riga and Daugavpils, Latvia and the immediately surrounding cities.

We thank you for your prayers and support. We also invite you to join us for volunteer projects in 2006. Please contact us for a list of project possibilities.


APR 29 A special prayer partner, Tammi Harrell, arrives today for a week of prayer and discovery in Eastern Latvia, Ogre, and Riga.

Our mission...  To initiate a movement of locals reaching locals that results in every Russian language person in Latvia hearing the true Gospel message, every Bible group becoming a reproducing church and every believer becoming a carrier of the Gospel.


Prayer snippets...

April 29: Daugavpils, Latvia. Pray for receptive hearts and effective follow-up to two evangelism services at Daugavpils Baptist Church this afternoon for needy kids and youth. Follow up events have been planned.

April 30: Silene, Latvia. Pray for four seekers to return for more Bible teaching and discussion today. Sergei asked last week, "How can anyone know if there is anything beyond the grave?"

April 30: Daugavpils, Latvia. Pray for the Holy Spirit to touch hearts and change lives as the new Daugavpils Central Baptist Church gathers for morning worship and again for an evening fellowship event.

May 1: Daugavpils, Latvia. Pray for Divine encounters as we prayer walk in the Griva and Jaunbuve (New Construction) districts of Daugavpils.

May 2: Daugavpils, Latvia. The church youth gather for prayer tonight. Intercede with them for the other 99+% of the youth in this area who do not personally know Jesus.

May 3: Kraslava, Latvia. Pray for the local group which is finishing the "Stranger on the Road to Emmaus" book. Pray for new birth spiritually and for birthpains toward a local church being born.
