PRAYER CALENDAR
BALTIC RUSSIAN LANGUAGE TEAM
March 1: "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." Proverbs 16:3. Pray for our team as we plan the summer mission activities. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God's will to us, and pray that all that we do will be in God's strength and for His glory.
March 2: "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." 1 Peter 3:15. Pray for our team as we meet people in the process of planning for the volunteer teams. Ask the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom in our interactions and to reflect Him in all we do and say.
March 3: "In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation." Psalm 5:3. Through Southwestern Seminary (SWBTS), we have a prayer advocate and a team that prays for our urgent needs and for our daily work. The leader and possibly several others will come to Latvia in the spring to see the work for which they pray and to prayer walk. Ask the Holy Spirit to deepen their understanding as they spend time in Latvia and to enable them to pray with greater insight when they return to the States.
March 4: "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10. Pray for the many volunteers that will come to Latvia this summer to work with our team. Ask the Holy Spirit to be at work even now in their hearts, preparing them spiritually. Ask the Holy Spirit to work in the hearts of those whom He would choose to come so that they will hear and answer the call.
March 5: "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." James 1:5. Pray for us as we guide the volunteer teams that are preparing to come this summer. Ask God to give us wisdom to prepare adequately.
March 6: "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Psalm 51:10. Pray for the Holy Spirit to prepare the hearts and minds of local believers in Latvia who will work alongside of the American volunteer teams.
March 7: "May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations." Psalm 67:1-2. Pray for two college students who will work with our team this summer over several weeks. Ask the Holy Spirit to prepare them spiritually for the work. Pray that God will richly bless them and their time in Latvia and use their experiences to make them more into the image of Christ.
March 8: "I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow." 1 Cor 3:6. Pray for teams that national pastors have requested, but have not yet formed. Ask the Holy Spirit to call volunteers to plant seeds and others to water them so that faith can grow in the hearts of many in Latvia.
March 9: "May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us--yes, establish the work of our hands." Psalm 90:17. Outside of Riga is a Christian camp in an area called Ropazi. There will be many camps hosted there over the course of the summer, camps involving children, youth, and adults. Pray for God to call a team to come and prepare the camp after the long winter for summer use. Pray that as this team cleans, paints, and makes repairs, that God will richly reward their work and allow them to see ahead to the fruit that will be harvested this summer at the camp.
March 10: "How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!" Psalm 133:1. Pray for the unity of those working on volunteer teams this summer in Latvia, for both local believers and Americans. Ask the Holy Spirit to break down cultural, language, and any other barriers and enable them to work side by side for the Kingdom of God.
March 11: "One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts." Psalm 145:4. Pray for the children's camp at Ropazi in July. Ask God to call and prepare a team to come and work alongside local believers, teaching the next generation of Jesus Christ. Pray that the children who come will have seeds planted in their hearts that will lead to their salvation.
March 12: "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him." 2 Cor 2:14. Pray for the team that will come from California and work alongside the established church in Daugavpils this summer using English as an outreach among youth. Ask God to use the volunteers and local believers to spread the aroma of Christ throughout the city and to those with whom they will be working.
March 13: "Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands." Psalm 119:73. Pray for the team from Tennessee that will come and work alongside local believers in Daugavpils with an outreach Vacation Bible School in a section of town near the established church. Pray for wisdom in the planning of the VBS and for follow-up afterwards. Pray that the children and younger youth who attend will come to know the God who created them and that the Holy Spirit will enable them to understand the truths being taught.
March 14: "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10. Pray that God will call volunteers to use their hands and their talents to construct a playground at the Ropazi camp.
March 15: "Let me understand the teaching of your precepts; then I will meditate on your wonders." Psalm 119:27. Pray that God will call a team to come and work alongside local believers at a youth camp in Ropazi in July. Pray that the youth who come will have open hearts to listen to the truths being taught and that the Holy Spirit will give them insight and wisdom that will lead to salvation.
March 16: "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10. Pray that God will proved divine appointments for the volunteers as they travel to and from Latvia and while they are here.

Pray for the team from Houston that will come and work with nationals with an outreach VBS in Riga in July. There is an impoverished area around the Salvation Temple Baptist Church with many, many unreached children and adults. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring children and youth to the VBS so that they can hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. Pray for effective follow-up by the church members after the VBS.
March 18: "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." Proverbs 16:9. Pray for the volunteers that will come this summer, that God will effectively work out His plan in their lives. Pray that they will return home with a new understanding of God, His power and His love, and that they will have open hearts to respond to whatever the Holy Spirit desires to do in and through them in the future.
March 19: "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him." Psalm 34:8. Pray for the team from Utah that will work with an English camp in Ropazi in the late summer. Ask the Holy Spirit to use them and the local believers to touch the hearts and lives of those who attend to show and tell them of God's goodness.
March 20: "Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies." Psalm 36:5. Pray for the many children and youth who attend the Ropazi camps this summer as they return home afterwards. Ask God to continue to work in their lives, drawing them closer and closer to Himself.
March 21: "Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done." Psalm 105:1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to call a team to work alongside a national church in Ogre, Latvia, for an outreach VBS. Pray that many lives will be touched as children come to hear about Christ. Many times adults will come with the children. Ask God to open their ears and hearts as well.
March 22: "But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you." Psalm 5:11. Pray for safety and good health for our team and the volunteers while they are in Latvia. Ask God to spread His protection over us all.
March 23: "All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name." Psalm 86:9. Pray for a team from Houston that will work alongside a relatively new church in the Vecmilgravis area of Riga. They will use sports as an outreach to youth and children. Pray that through this outreach, many will come to hear about Christ, that others in the area will hear about the church possibly for the first time, and that God will use this outreach to bring favor upon the church.
March 24: "And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." Romans 5:5. Pray for the nationals that will be invited to come to the various camps and VBS, that God will soften their hearts to understand and receive His love.

March 27: "The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous." Psalm 125:3. Pray for God to call a team for prayer walking and materials distribution for a neighborhood of Daugavpils called Griva. We've never worked in this area before. Pray that as this team goes into new territory, that Satan's kingdom will be pushed back and that God's kingdom will come to this area.
March 28: "We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me." Colossians 1:28-29. Pray that the nationals working with the volunteer teams this summer will hear and respond to God's calling to lead a team of national volunteers within Latvia in the near future.
March 29: "'Abraham is our father,' they answered. 'If you were Abraham's children,' said Jesus, 'then you would do the things Abraham did.'" John 8:39. Pray that many people in Latvia who consider themselves Christians, but don't have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, will be drawn to Him and commit their lives to developing a true relationship.
March 30: "And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts." 2 Peter 1:19. Pray for those volunteer teams that will be prayer-walking Latvian neighborhoods, that God will open many doors for them to share the gospel.
March 31: "Not to us, O lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness." Psalm 115:1. Pray that all the work of the American volunteers, the local believers, and our team will be done for the glory of God and that this will never leave our minds and hearts. Pray that in all we do, the name of Christ will be lifted up and that He will draw all men to Himself.

God is carrying out His mission in Latvia. He involves people like you and me. He invites us to see Him glorified as we share the good news of Jesus Christ and participate in the building of His church. Please join our Baltic Russian Language Team as we pray during March. Our prayer calendar is focused on the work of volunteers who will make a difference in the lives of real people here in Latvia. Please refer to this prayer list during the month and take a few moments to pray. We'd love to hear from you if you have a chance to write or should you have any questions.
