Kids Hearing About Jesus

FEBRUARY 17, 2005
Kraslava, Latvia

It all began with some prayer and a little baseball! Now we have anywhere from 5-15 kids each Wednesday evening coming to hear Yanya present a Bible story and work on a craft. Four years ago we began prayer walking in Kraslava, followed by occasional Sunday worship in the Lutheran Church building. Last year a team from Texas came to host a baseball camp to teach the kids how to play baseball. About 100 kids showed up, the majority of them had never seen a baseball, but by the end of the week they could play ball with the best of them! AND in addition they were taught about the love God has for each of them. Many did not believe there really was a God until it was demonstrated in the lives and compassion of the team. Now each week they come to learn more. They are able to recite Bible verses and understand that God really does love them and that they are special! They are from ethnic Russian, Latvian, Roma, and Polish families—all joined together by one God! Please pray that these children will continue to come and grow in their knowledge of Jesus Christ, and share their new found love with family members, neighbors, and friends.
